Dina ditched her desk for healthier lunchtime habits after the Global Challenge

The Global Challenge is more than just friendly competition, it's designed to help us adopt healthier habits or adjust our lifestyles in some way to help our physical and mental wellbeing. Dina kindly shared her experience of the Global Challenge which is a part of the Faculty of Engineering Wellbeing Programme 'Juice'....

"Before the Global Challenge and the Juice programme was introduced to us 2 years ago I was the type of person that would not move from my desk. I would work through my lunch and the only time I would leave my desk was if I had to go to a meeting or to go home in the evening. I would have never thought about going for a walk on my lunch hour or doing Yoga for an hour. I was asked to join a team for the Global Challenge 2017 and thought I was going to hate it but much to my surprise I absolutely loved it. From doing literally no steps a day to doing over 10K steps I was pretty proud of myself. When the challenge ended I wanted to continue because it made me feel better. I had more energy, I am more productive at work and I find walking very therapeutic. I highly recommend taking advantage of the Juice Programme and do the Challenge!!"
