In recent years there has been much research conducted into what happens physiologically when we practice Yoga – not just the asana (physical poses) but the breathing and relaxation techniques as well. The research is uncovering fascinating evidence of how the practice affects us mentally and physically and can help to prevent and assist with many illness such as pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, back pain, high blood pressure to name but a few.
As part of the Juice Reconnect Staff Wellbeing event Karen will be holding a basic beginner’s yoga session suitable for anyone who has always wanted to give yoga a try! The class will introduce you to some of the basic asana (poses), pranayama (breathing) and relaxation techniques.
Please come in clothing you can move around in (jogging bottoms and a t-shirt are ideal), practice will be in bare feet. There are some mats available to borrow but if you have your own please bring it with you.
